The exceptional and outstanding properties of polymeric biomaterials pave the way for new research in the medical sector and are the driving force for these researches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biodegradable polymeric sutures with high potential in the field of drug delivery are of great importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Various drug delivery systems, such as controlled, slow and targeted release systems, have been formulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With no specificity of conventional drug delivery systems, polymeric drug delivery carriers offer great control over the drug delivery process and can be modified to meet specific needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delivery of antibacterial agents and anti-inflammatory drugs by the sutures to the target site has been found to be an effective strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
